The solution introduces the ability to transfer distributors’ orders automatically from the internet to Visma Business. Because of this, the company had to make substantial changes to its internal computer solutions, as ViaNett operates its solutions on its own internet server. The system is a pure B2B solution, and the hope is that customers will use it so that information which was earlier handled via extensive use of telephone calls and faxes can now be accurately registered and altered on the web.

"This sale demands that we carry out considerable customization", says ViaNett chief Lars Helland. "ViaNett hopes in the meantime that this tailoring will bring the system up to the next level, making it current for large companies. SEAS Manufacturing demands among other things, the flexibility to handle multiple languages and currencies. With such functions built in, the market for the system becomes larger", explains Helland.

ViaNett’s goal is to be an alternative to the ERP-providers’ own system, which has the advantage of being more tightly integrated with the internal financial system, but often has a structure behind it which is not dynamic enough to carry out customizations for clients.
