ViaNett had a turnover in the first half of 2006 of NOK 11,630,434, compared with NOK 6,323,444 for the same period of 2005 (an increase of 84 %). Result before taxes was NOK 266,672, compared with a negative result last year of NOK 264,426. The company's rapid growth is mostly a result of a large growth in the number of new customers for SMS. ViaNett distributed more than 3.3 million SMS messages in June 2006, compared with 1.2 million messages in December 2005, which means an increase in the number of messages of 275 % per month.
SMS customers all over the world.
For SMS, ViaNett now has customers in all regions of the world except Australia. The company's possibilities for flexible delivery make big companies in the same line of business choose ViaNett as their provider.
Centre for mobile communication in e-commerce and publishing.
The growth is not as big for e-commerce and publishing. For these kinds of solutions, there are far more competitors in the marketplace. The prices vary a lot, and different software companies have chosen to create their own Internet solutions as modules for e.g. ERP systems.
ViaNett will do 2 things with this: First, a campaign has been launched where the establishment fee is reduced to 0. Second, ViaNett will take advantage of its own SMS technology to develop a communication centre for mobile communication, containing functionality for e-commerce and publishing. Already, possibilities exist for newsletters via e-mail and SMS. Publishing is also possible by sending an MMS, a so-called MMS blog.
10 employees.
The company now has 10 employees. "We have no plans to hire more people this year", Lars Helland says. "First, we will make sure we become better and more effective in the areas where we have more potential. All of our products are developed for mass distribution, and our goal is to develop the same, simple solutions for e-commerce and publishing as we have for SMS."
Tired of defending the company's own technology.
On the other hand, ViaNett, by a possible capital raise, can increase growth even more, Helland thinks. "For small companies, the availability of financial partners is not easy unless you have the right contacts. But we think that people will soon start to notice us. Besides, we are tired of defending our own technology, so now we hope the results speak for themselves."
